Cricket is becoming a batsman’s game by introducing two new balls in ODIs, powerplay rules, small boundaries, and thick bats. But even in this batsman dominant era, some bowlers like Pat Cummins, Rashid Khan, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, Jofra Archer, Rabada are keeping batsmen on their toes. But in this day and age, there are some bowlers whose performances go unnoticed and are not given enough credit for their performances.

Five Underrated Bowlers in World Cricket Today

Here is a list of five bowlers who are underrated in the current era:

5. Neil Wagner (New Zealand):

Neil Wagner is one of the toughest characters in cricket who recently bowled with a broken toe and who is not given his share of praise that he deserves. A constant performer for New Zealand in Tests who only recently came into the limelight after making the then no. 1 batsman in tests, Steve Smith, his bunny. He is no. 3 in ICC Test bowling rankings currently.

4. James Pattinson (Australia):

Pattinson burst into the scene with a memorable 5 for 27 against kiwis in Gabba. But injuries halted his progress as he was constantly in and out of the team. He is one of the few foreign fast bowlers who have taken a test 5 wicket Hall in India in the previous decade. Whenever he gets a chance to represent his country, James is always prepared to give his heart and soul for the team.

3. Chris Woakes (England):

England currently has an abundance of talent in their fast bowling resources, hence Woakes sometimes goes unnoticed. But his contribution with the new ball helped England win their first-ever World Cup. He has the skill to swing the ball both ways. Also, his batting ability increases his worth as a cricketer. He is someone who can fit into any side’s best XI in any format.

2. Hasan Ali (Pakistan):

Ali was the main reason behind Pakistan’s winning campaign in Champions Trophy 2017. He held the record for taking most wickets in middle overs, which broke the opposition’s back. But he had a rough patch in the 2018-19 season, which every cricketer has at some point, and injuries didn’t help either. But in 2021, he has made a stellar comeback in all formats with match-winning performances with both bat and ball. He is a strong character which is a luxury for any team.

1. Adil Rashid (England):

Adil Rashid is probably one of the best white bowl spinners in the world currently who has regularly troubled the likes of Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He played a crucial role in the world Cup-winning campaign for England. How he hasn’t landed an IPL contract is hard to understand. Rashid has turned out to be a match-winner for England. But when we talk about spinners in the white ball, we tend to miss his name.
