Call of Duty Mobile C’ship 2020 will have a prize pool of Rs. 7,60,60,500!

The renowned first person shooter franchise Call of Duty entered mobile gaming last year with the release of Call of Duty mobile. On the heels of its release on 1st October 2019, the free-to-play multiplayer game soon became one of the biggest games in the world. The game’s publishers Activision has announced their first global esports tournament, titled Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2020, and is commencing on April 30th, with an astounding prize pool of Rs. 7,60,60,500!

The tournament will begin in the form of an online qualifier round beginning next Thursday, and will last until 24th May, prior to the main event of the tournament.

The eligibility of the tournament qualifier has been restricted to players ranked veteran or higher in the CoD Mobile multiplayer mode. They also must be at least 18 years of age and must be in good terms with the game, without any history of bans or violations.

Players will have to click ‘Sign Up’ in-game to enter the qualifiers, and there will be scheduled days for players to enter from different countries, who will have to participate in online ranked matches.

The participating players will have to play ten ranked matches, and need to score at least 80 points to be eligible for the qualifying round. Points will be rewarded onthe basis of a player’s rank and individual wins. Exclusive in-game rewards have also been announced for registering in the qualifier, and progressing through earning tournament points.

Details of the main event, such as the tournament structure and where the matches will be broadcasted for the viewers will be released by Activision soon after the qualifiers commence.

The total prize pool of $1 million, equivalent to Rs. 7,60,60,500, will see both cash prize and in-game cosmetic items.

The game, which features iconic characters, maps and weapons from the main franchise, including the renowned Modern Warfare and Black Ops series. On its release date, CoD Mobile achieved an astonishing 100 million downloads, and currently has one of the biggest playerbases in mobile gaming.

Call of Duty Mobile is available to download for free in both iOS and Android devices.
