Indian cricket legend Yuvraj Singh has been named the ambassador for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. This announcement comes with just 36 days to go until the pinnacle global event for T20 cricket gets underway.

Yuvraj Singh, fondly remembered for his six sixes in an over during the first-ever T20 World Cup in 2007, which India ultimately won, will participate in numerous promotional events in the United States ahead of and during the tournament. This includes the highly anticipated India versus Pakistan fixture in New York on June 9.
Yuvraj Singh’s appointment as the ambassador is a celebration of his iconic moment in the Men’s T20 World Cup 2007 campaign. He joins West Indies icon Chris Gayle and eight-time Olympic Gold Medallist Usain Bolt as the first ambassadors to be revealed.
Speaking about his new role, Yuvraj Singh said, “Some of my fondest cricketing memories have come from playing at the T20 World Cup, including hitting six sixes in an over, so it’s very exciting to be part of this edition, which is set to be the biggest one yet”. He also expressed his excitement about the growth of cricket in the USA and being a part of it through the T20 World Cup.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be played from June 1 to June 29. The opening fixture will see co-hosts USA taking on Canada at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. A total of 55 matches will be played by 20 teams across 9 venues, culminating in the final on June 29 in Barbados.
As the ambassador, Yuvraj Singh will be at the forefront of promotional events, bringing his charisma and passion for the game to engage with fans and players alike. His involvement in the tournament is expected to draw more attention to the event, especially from Indian cricket fans.
