Mona Aggarwal, an Indian para-shooter, has once again proven her mettle by winning her second World Cup title of the year at the WSPS World Cup in Changwon, Korea. This victory comes on the heels of her previous win in the same event at the World Cup in New Delhi last month.

Mona Aggarwal’s impressive form in the final

Aggarwal clinched the gold medal in the women’s 10m air rifle category, specifically the R2 – 10m air rifle standing SH1. She achieved a score of 250.8 in the final, demonstrating her exceptional skill and precision. Her performance was so consistent that all her 24 shots were above the 10-point mark.

This achievement is particularly impressive considering that Aggarwal only took up shooting in December 2021. Prior to this, she had excelled at the state level in shot put and powerlifting. Her rapid rise in the field of shooting is a testament to her talent, dedication, and hard work.

Earlier, Mona had a victory in the same event at the home World Cup in New Delhi last month, where she also secured her Paralympic quota for Paris 2024. She will try to continue with her good form at this prestigious event in Paris and will be aiming to get her first-ever Paralympic medal.

The WSPS World Cup in Changwon saw other Indian para-shooters shine as well. Army man Amir Ahmed Bhatt secured a silver in the 25m pistol event.

Other Indian para-shooters, Rubina Francis, Nihal Singh, Akash and Sanjeev Kumar Giri will be in action for their respective 10m air pistol events on the 27th of April. This will be the final event for all the rifle and pistol para-shooters before the Paralympic Games 2024.
