Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident that given time, Fred will make the most of his opportunities at Manchester United.
It has been nearly six weeks since the Brazilian last played for the Red Devils and it looks like he is ready to get his next chance against Crystal Palace.
Much of United’s squad is sidelined with injuries and Solskjaer has hinted that Fred will most probably make his return on Wednesday night against Palace.
Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos or ‘Fred’ as he is commonly known signed a big-money deal with United last summer and although he is taking time to adapt at Old Trafford, Solskjaer feels when the time comes he’ll be ready.
“You have to look at the time it needs to settle,” Solskjaer said.
“You look at Juan [Sebastian Veron] – he is one of the best players that I played with – and it took him time to settle. And I am sure that when given the chance and a run in the team Fred will grab the opportunity.
“Fred will get his chances, maybe tomorrow.”
With many of United’s first-team players plagued by injuries, it has created a window of opportunity for the Brazilian to showcase his talents in some way against Crystal Palace.
