Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar once again made headlines with his brilliant gesture recently. He presented the ‘Gift of Life’ certificates to commemorate the accomplishment of 1000 Totally Free of Cost Heart Surgeries amid the crunch situation of global pandemic novel COVID-19 at the Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals.
The hospital, which is located in three states – Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Maharashtra in India, gave Totally Free of Cost surgeries and interventions to all those children who are born with congenital heart diseases.
Owing to the global pandemic COVID-19 and the imposed lockdown, not only the medical situation but also every other thing got affected very badly since mid-March. Amid this time, non-COVID health services have been severely affected due to shortage of national healthcare resources.
However, The Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals took the great initiative to treat the children amid this time and they have done a great job as well. “Adhering to internationally recommended COVID-19 controls, Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals have managed over 6000 pediatric cardiac outpatients and conducted over 1000 pediatric cardiac surgeries & interventions from March 2020 till date,” said Mr C Sreenivas, Chairman of Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals.

Notably, this no-cost treatment that has been provided to the patient and families, are included the medical treatment, post-operative care, counselling, diagnostics, physiotherapy & dietetics, as well as food and accommodation also during their stay at the hospital. Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar has supported the idea and he has been associated with this for a long-time as well and also visited them quite a few times also.
“The little maestro is all set to interact with the little hearts of Sai Sanjeevani and shall also tip his hat to the Sanjeevani medical and paramedical teams, the true warriors fighting all odds to provide life-saving health services to the poor and needy of the country,” said Mr Arvind Thiagarajan, Founding Trustee and Director of H2H Foundation.
