KKR’s slow start receives a boost from Morgan-DK duo

SRH had won the toss and elected to field first. Although Shubman Gill started KKR’s innings with a slow 36-off-37, his opening partner Rahul Tripathi scored a quick 16-ball-23 to get their score in motion. Nitish Rana (29) landed some hits, while the out-of-form Andre Russell (9) disappointed again. The new captain Eoin Morgan (34) partnered with the former skipper Dinesh Karthik (29) to land some big hits to propel their total to 163 at the end.

T Natarajan secured the wickets of Tripathi and Russell, while Rashid Khan and Vijay Shankar picked off Gill and Rana while also maintaining good economy rates. Basil Thampi dismissed Morgan at the last ball of the innings.

David Warner’s fireworks at the chase ended on equal scores

Sunrisers started their chase with Jonny Bairstow raining fours (36-off-28) joined by Kane Williamson in the opening (29). Warner went down the batting order and came in 4th and led the chase with a superb 33-ball-47 along with the young Abdul Samad, who landed some important hits. However, tying the score at 163, the game went into super over.
