Alex McCarthy of givemesport.com recently interviewed Elias at the WWE Performance Center at a preview of WWE 2K19 in Orlando. He remarked that he was a great fan of both the Rock and Elias and wondered if he took inspiration from him. Elias brushed off the notion immediately and took a jab at the Rock too.

“People have thrown out the idea of a challenge, a sing-off or some sort of guitar-off. Rock, if you’re out there and you hear this and you’re listening, you’re welcome to come and ‘Walk with Elias’ whenever you want to.
This is not the first time Elias has called out the Rock. In fact, one of the rumored plans for Elias at WrestleMania 34 was to have a guitar face-off with the Rock! It didn’t come to fruition because Vince McMahon couldn’t confirm the WWE legend’s presence at the Grandest Stage of All, and Elias went on to have an altercation with John Cena at the aforementioned show.
@IAmEliasWWE says his character takes "no inspiration whatsoever" from @TheRock and says "The Rock cannot do what I do."
He also sent a message to the Great One: "Rock, you know where to find me, on my show, Monday Night #RAW; if you wanna walk with Elias, come on out." pic.twitter.com/7KKqLFexYo

On the other hand, the Rock has not yet closed his cards on the prospect of returning to WWE. He did mention recently that he couldn’t wait to get back into a WWE ring.
There is a saying in professional wrestling- ‘Never say never.’ It is applicable to the current scenario of the Brahma Bull and the Drifter too. The fans would be exultant if the Rock and Elias clash in the near future.
