Scotland bowled out Oman for just 24 – the fourth-lowest score in List A cricket – as they beat their opponents by 10 wickets with 280 balls to spare.

Oman cricket team hit rock bottom on Tuesday when their team were bowled out for a mere 24 in a List A match against Scotland at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground. Khawar Ali’s 15 was the only double-digit score while as many as five batsmen were dismissed without scoring as Oman were bundled out for the fourth lowest total in List A cricket.

Asked to bat, Oman were reduced to 8 for 4 in the fifth over, with three of of the top four registering ducks. Ali ensured that Oman avoided the shame of becoming the third team to be dismissed for a score below 20 as he guided the team to 22 before losing his wicket. The tail didn’t wag much and Oman were eventually dismissed for 24.
Including Ali, there were only four batsmen who faced more than 10 deliveries, with Oman’s innings lasting until the 18th over. Seamers Ruaidhri Smith and Adrian Neill both finished with astonishing figures of 4-7.Scotland then chased down the lowly target in 3.2 overs without losing a wicket. This marks the second time that Oman have been bowled out for less than 45 in List A cricket. The previous occasion came in July 2005 during the ICC Trophy game against Papua New Guinea when Oman finished their innings at 41 all out.

The two teams play again on Wednesday, before the three-match 50-over series concludes on Friday.
