Newcastle United and former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has claimed that Manchester United will have a say in the Premier League title race this season. The Red Devils enter the new year 19 points from the top and 8 points from the top four spot at sixth. New manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has breathed new life into the club after winning 3 games in a row thanks to some very attractive attacking football.

Solskjaer’s next task is a difficult one against Newcastle at St. James’ Park. The Magpies shocked United with a 1-0 win at their home ground last season and the Norwegian boss admitted that he never liked travelling to that stadium during his playing days.

Despite their dismal position on the table, Benitez believes that United still has what it takes to affect the title picture. His point of view may have been different had Jose been in charge. The former Real Madrid manager believes that the rejuvenated Man United side has the quality to make the table toppers wary.

United are clear favourites to pick up all three points at St. James’ Park but Rafa belives that his side can “disappoint” the Red Devils scintillating run of form. United will close the gap to 3 points for fifth place with Arsenal should they manage to pull out a victory.
