Overseas players rose to the occasion for the Sunrisers at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. David Warner left his mark in his final outing while Rashid Khan impressed with the ball yet again.

A blazing start triggered by the in-form David Warner and makeshift opener Wriddhiman Saha set the tone for SRH. Despite Saha’s dismissal, Warner carried on the good work with yet another fifty and extending his run tally to 611 runs.
Manish Pandey continued his good knick with a tidy cameo which propelled SRH to a massive first innings total of 212. Mujeeb-ur-Rahman had a horror outing and entered the record books. The mystery spinner became the spinner to concede most runs in an innings after conceding 66 runs in his 4 overs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad got rid of the dangerous Chris Gayle to put a dent in KXIP’s hopes. No batsman barring KL Rahul got going with Rashid Khan wrecking the middle order. KL Rahul stayed till the end, scoring 79 runs in the process.
This is KXIP’s fifth loss in the last six games. The franchise endured similar dip in form towards the second half of the tournament last year.
Brief Scorecard:
SRH 212-6 (20 overs) (D.Warner 81; R.Ashwin 2-30)
KXIP 167-8 (20 overs) (KL Rahul 79; R.Khan 3-21)
