Chelsea stayed at the fourth position in the League table with a 0-0 draw against Southampton at Stamford Bridge. The Blues lost two important points at home and this might prove to be a vital blow for them in terms of finishing at the top four of the Premier League at the end of the season.

There were no Olivier Giroud, Mateo Kovacic and Pedro for the Blues in this match due to injury problems. Maurizio Sarri had to play Alvaro Morata upfront of the field. Eden Hazard and Willian started in either flanks. Eden Hazard tried his best to break the defensive unit of Southampton. However, he did not get enough support from his teammates in this match.
Willian was taken off in the first half due to an injury and Ruben Loftus Cheek replaced him. In the second half of the match, one goal of Alvaro Morata was denied due to offside; but the decision was controversial. Danny Ings was also taken off at the begining of the second half of the match with an injury and Shane Long replaced him.
Antonio Rudiger was shown an yellow card in the second half. The Blues tried hard to break the deadlock; but their efforts were not enough to make it possible.
