Abid Ali, who made a fantastic ODI debut earlier this year against Australia, scoring 112 runs, was included in the 15 member squad that will travel to England for the World Cup. He became the player to score the highest number of runs for Pakistan in an ODI debut.
Ali, who is all set to play an ODI series against England and a one-off ODI against Ireland expressed his desire to get some tips from the Little Master Sachin Tendulkar to prepare for the World Cup.
Speaking to the reporters Abid spoke about his wish to meet Tendulkar and hug him. Ali also wants Sachin to give the Pakistani batsman a piece of advice going into the World Cup. Abid added “It will be the best day in my life when I meet him because he was one of the best batsmen. West Indian Viv Richards was also great so I want to meet all the great players and learn from them.”
He also spoke about how fascinated he was with Sachin and also tried implementing his batting technique while growing up.
Ali is hopeful to make a name for himself when he gets a chance to represent Pakistan at the World Cup and wants to make his country proud.
