Cesc Fabregas played his last match for Chelsea on Saturday in the FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest. The 31 year old midfielder was not able to control his emotions when he was subbed off for the last time in Chelsea’s jersey. The Spanish midfielder won 2 Premier League titles with the Blues and his contribution in the both the title wins were phenomenal.
However, age is a big factor in this game. Under the management of Maurizio Sarri, Cesc Fabregas was not able to cement his position in the first team of the Blues. So, a move in this January window was looking inevitable.
Chelsea club management are trying to bring in Nicolo Barella from Cagliari with a huge bid of £45 million as the replacement of Cesc Fabregas. However, the Italian midfielder did not state anything clearly about his future. Barella told,
“I have never given too much weight to compliments or criticism, I am not impervious, but I know that in this world nobody gives you anything,”
“The supporters? They say that they are very proud of my daughter, she is beautiful.
“I understand that they love me, I feel like everybody’s son, it’s a really nice feeling.
“I do not look at the money. If I change team in the future it will not be for the money, I will do it for ambition.
“My future? At this moment I have no idea of what will happen.”
