Arsenal beat Valencia at home; Chelsea escape with a draw against Frankfurt

The Gunners have beaten Valencia with a margin of 3-1 at the Emirates. On the other hand, Chelsea escaped with a 1-1 draw against Frankfurt in the first leg of the Europa League. Both the London sides are in advantageous position after the end of the first leg of the semifinal of Europa League.

 

The start of the match was not as expected for the Gunners. Mouctar Diakhaby scored the first goal of the match for Valencia at the 11th minute if the match. However, things got changed after that. The brace of Alexandre Lacazette at 18th and 25th minute of the match gave the Gunners the breathing space they needed. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored the third goal for Arsenal at the 90th minute of the match.

On the other hand, in the other semifinal, Frankfurt scored the first goal of the match. Luka Jović gave the home side the all important lead at the 23rd minute of the first half. However, Pedro equalised the scoreline for the Blues at the 45th minute of the match. Ruben Loftus Cheek provided the ball towards Pedro. In the second half of the match, Eden Hazard came from the bench; but his inclusion was not able to change the scoreline in favour of the Blues.
