With the most dramatic turn of events, the Indian women cricket team advanced through the semi finals of the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup without a single ball bowled. A heavy downpour today in Sydney caused the match to be abandoned, and India proceeded to the final for having more Group stage points compared to their opponents England. Nonetheless, its the first entry into the T20 World Cup final for the ladies, and the whole cricket fraternity of India comes forward to with their felicitations to the team, led by the Men’s team captain Virat Kohli!

Topping Group A with an unbeaten 8 points, India went through the abandoned semi final match, as the Group B runners-up England had scored 6 points from the group stage matches.
Following the declaration, the supporters stormed the social media to congratulate the Women in Blue’s maiden T20 World Cup final entry, and Men in Blue skipper Virat Kohli himself came forward with a congratulatory tweet.

As an indian I am absolutely thrilled india has made it to the finals . But as a cricketer I feel for the English girls . I’d never want to find myself or my team in that situation. But the rules are such and it is what it is. Congratulations girls. This is big. #INDvENG #T20WC
