Varun Chakravarthy, the mystery spinner from India, has achieved a significant milestone by breaking into the top 5 of the ICC T20I bowler rankings. This achievement follows his outstanding performance in the third T20I against England at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, where he claimed a five-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 5/24. His exceptional bowling helped India to restrict England to a total of 171 all out.

Chakravarthy’s rise in the rankings is the result of his consistent performances throughout the series, having taken 10 wickets in just three matches. His career-best rating points of 679 have propelled him 25 places up the rankings, positioning him at fifth, just behind Adil Rashid, Akeal Hosein, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Adam Zampa. This achievement marks him as only the third Indian bowler, after Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav, to take multiple five-wicket hauls in T20Is.
