In a much-anticipated cricketing clash, India is all set to embark on a tour of South Africa for a thrilling four-match T20I series. The announcement by Cricket South Africa (CSA) has ignited excitement among fans and promises intense battles on the cricket field.
India Tour of South Africa: T20I Schedule
1st T20I: November 8 at Kingsmead, Durban
2nd T20I: November 10 at St George’s Park, Gqeberha
3rd T20I: November 13 at SuperSport Park, Centurion
4th T20I: November 15 at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg
These four T20Is were initially postponed during India’s 2021 tour of South Africa due to the surge in Covid-19 cases. Back then, India played three Tests and three ODIs, with South Africa emerging victorious in both formats. The T20Is were rescheduled for a more opportune time, and now that time has arrived.
India had toured South Africa last year, where both teams played a Test, ODI and T20I series. While India won the ODI series by a margin of 2-1, the Test and T20I series finished with the honours shared with a score of 1-1.
Hosting Indian Cricket Team is a financial lifeline for most cricket boards, and CSA is no exception. Broadcast revenues from a single T20 match amount to over R150 million (approximately US $8.4 million). CSA, which declared a loss of R119 million in the last financial year, eagerly awaits this series.
