Indian badminton stars PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, and the men’s doubles pair Satwk/Chirag have experienced a drop in their respective BWF World Rankings, as per the latest update released on October 8, 2024.

PV Sindhu’s Ranking Drop

PV Sindhu, who had a disappointing campaign at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has seen a decline in her ranking. Sindhu, who was previously ranked 14th, has now dropped to the 18th spot. The drop can be attributed to her early exit in the round of 16 at the Olympics and a lack of competitive matches since then. Sindhu is set to make her return at the Arctic Open Super 500 in Finland, where she will be looking to regain her form.

HS Prannoy’s Ranking Drop

HS Prannoy, who achieved a career-best ranking of 6th in August 2023, has also seen a drop in his ranking. Prannoy, currently ranked 13th, has been hampered by injuries and a lack of match practice. His absence from competitive play since the Paris Olympics has contributed to his decline in the rankings. Prannoy is expected to make a comeback in the upcoming tournaments and aims to climb back up the rankings.

Satwik/Chirag’s Ranking Drop

The men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have also experienced a drop in their rankings. After reaching a career-best ranking of 4th in May 2023, the duo has now slipped to the 6th spot. Despite their recent drop, Satwik and Chirag have shown great potential and are expected to bounce back with strong performances in upcoming tournaments.
