After David De Gea’s brilliant performance against Tottenham Hotspur, last Sunday, Manchester United’s interim manager thinks he can establish himself as the club’s greatest goalkeeper.
The 28-year-old Spain international made 11 saves as United beat Spurs 1-0 at Wembley.
During his 11 years as a striker at Old Trafford, Solskjaer played alongside goalkeepers Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar.

The Norwegian manager thinks De Gea has what it takes to eclipse both Schmeichel and van der Sar as United’s number one goalkeeper.
De Gea’s 11 saves were his highest in a Premier League game while also keeping a clean sheet and helping United make it six wins from six under Solskjaer.
Since joining United from Atletico Madrid in 2011, the Spaniard has won the club’s player of the year award in four of the past five seasons.
“He should have held a couple,” quipped Solskjaer. “We had a good back four and David in behind them was unbelievable. You are allowed to have a good goalkeeper.
“I’ve played with a few fantastic goalkeepers. We have a tradition of having them and he has grown and grown. He deserves that man of the match today.”
