Niki Prasad to Lead India’s 15-Member Squad for ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup

India has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from January 18 to February 2, 2025. Leading the team will be Niki Prasad, who has been appointed as the captain, with Sanika Chalke serving as her deputy.

The squad includes two wicketkeepers, Kamalini G and Bhavika Ahire, and features a mix of experienced and promising young players. Notably, G Trisha and Aayushi Shukla, who were instrumental in India’s recent victory in the Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup, have also been included in the team.

The Defending Champions will compete under Niki Prasad’s leadership

India, the defending champions, have been placed in Group A alongside hosts Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies. The team will kick off their campaign against the West Indies on January 19 at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur. The group stage matches will run from January 19-23, with the top three teams from each group advancing to the Super 6 stage.

The Super 6 stage will feature two groups of six teams each, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals on January 31. The final match is scheduled for February 2, 2025.
