The Los Angeles Lakers claimed a 138-128 overtime victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Kyle Kuzma scored 32 points for the Lakers, and Lonzo Ball was impressive for them down the stretch. The Thunder let a 17-point lead slip, but at least forced overtime after Russell Westbrook nailed three free throws in the dying seconds. But the Lakers outscored them by 10 points in the extra 5 minutes, handing them the victory.
London saw NBA action today, as the Wizards and Knicks faced off at The O2. Washington claimed the 101-100 win in controversial circumstances, as they were awarded a buzzer-beating field goal due to a goaltend.
Joel Embiid stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, 8 assists, and 13 rebounds as the 76ers defeated the Pacers 120-96. Jimmy Butler scored 27 for Philadelphia, and J. J. Redick added 20.
In Charlotte, the Hornets won 114-95 against the Kings following a second-quarter shooting outburst. Kemba Walker top-scored for them with 23 points.
Kawhi Leonard sat out for the Raptors, but they won nonetheless, scraping past the Suns in Phoenix 101-109. The Nuggets routed the Bulls 135-105, to bounce back from their heavy loss against the Warriors.
