On Tuesday night, Shreyanka had the opportunity to meet none other than her childhood idol, Virat Kohli, the legendary former captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The occasion was the RCB ‘Unbox’ event, where players and fans came together to celebrate the spirit of cricket.
Shreyanka couldn’t contain her excitement. She took to the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) to share her feelings. Her post read, “Started watching cricket because of him. Grew up dreaming of being like him. And last night, I had the moment of my life.” Alongside her heartfelt words, she posted a picture of herself standing next to Kohli, both wearing RCB jerseys.

Shreyanka Patil’s Journey
Shreyanka Patil’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Picked up by RCB during the inaugural WPL auctions last year, she proved her mettle with six crucial wickets in seven matches—the highest for her team. Her performances didn’t go unnoticed. The Indian selectors called her up for the home T20 series against England in December, and she made her national team debut on December 6.
Since then, Shreyanka has continued to shine. Representing India in two ODIs and six T20Is, she has picked up four and eight wickets, respectively. Her determination, despite battling injuries, has earned her a place in the national team.
