According to recent reports, Mohsin Naqvi, the current Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is poised to take over as the new Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President. This transition is expected to occur later in 2024, following the departure of Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), from the role.
The ACC follows a rotational system for its presidency. Jay Shah has held the position for three consecutive years, with his recent one-year extension ending in January 2024.

Both arch-rivals, India and Pakistan, have been under some heated zone after the latter has repeatedly shown concerns and leniency to travel to the former country to participate in the upcoming Champions’ trophy.
On the other hand, Pakistan travelled to India for the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. Irrespective of the many meetings between BCCI President Roger Binny and Naqvi, there has been very little clarity on what will ultimately pan out for India’s participation in the Champions Trophy.
