The matches from this week’s Super Sunday saw Delhi Capitals make a statement to play the first qualifier by ending Royal Challengers Bangalore’s campaign. Whereas, KKR halted MI’s momentum to end their losing streak.

Match 1: Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore
In a starking contest with respect to their position in the table, DC and RCB faced off at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Electing to bat first, the Capitals decided to introduce Sandeep Lamicchane in place of Chris Morris.
Shikhar Dhawan carried on with his scintillating form at the top of the order while Prithvi Shaw once again failed to see off the powerplay. Despite a middle-order slump, few lusty blows by Rutherford and Patel, in the end, powered DC to a commanding total of 187.
RCB were off to a great start courtesy of Parthiv Patel, who went on with his purple patch. But the wicket-keeper batsman lacked support from the other end. DC managed to strike at regular intervals and emerged victorious by 18 runs, hence completing the double over the three-time IPL finalists.
Match 2: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians
The hosts finally got off the losing streak that they were trapped in after a high scoring encounter at the Eden Gardens.
A flat pitch and short boundaries were the key points if this encounter which saw 29 sixes being hit over the course of 40 overs.
Shubhman Gill and Chris Lynn laid out a rock solid foundation before Andre Russell took things into his hands coming into No.3.
Chasing a mammoth total of 233, Mumbai Indians had a horror start with both the openers dismissed in the powerplay itself. The middle order did not trouble the scorecard much either. Hardik Pandya took matters into his hands once the required rate crept over 15. The all-rounder responded with a sensational knock of 91 off 34.
The task, however, ended up being too much for him and the three-time winners slumped to a 34 run defeat.
