The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has secured a significant partnership with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Maharatna company, as its official principal sponsor. This collaboration spans four years, commencing from the Paris Olympics in 2024 and extending through to the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
BPCL’s partnership with IOA
As a Fortune Global 500 company, BPCL has a strong track record of supporting Indian athletes. Their commitment extends beyond mere sponsorship; they actively nurture talent and believe in the potential of our sportspersons.
The partnership covers a wide spectrum of sporting events, including the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, Summer Youth Olympics, Winter Olympics, and Winter Youth Olympics. BPCL’s support will resonate across various disciplines and competitions.
BPCL plans to launch inspiring campaigns to rally behind the Indian contingent heading to Paris. These initiatives aim to galvanize national support, celebrate excellence, and showcase the relentless spirit of our athletes on the global stage.
BPCL boasts top athletes among its employees. Notable names include MM Somaya (gold medallist in the 1980 Moscow Olympics), PV Sindhu (silver and bronze winner at the 2016 and 2020 Olympics), and Saina Nehwal (bronze medalist in badminton at the 2012 London Olympics). Additionally, five men’s hockey team players from the Tokyo Olympics bronze medal-winning side are also BPCL employees.
