With the match ending in a draw, the series was decided via a special shootout. Germany went first and Florian Sperling scored the opening goal, putting pressure on India’s goalkeeper Krishan Pathak. Pathak made a brilliant save to deny Mazkour, but Harmanpreet Singh’s effort was saved by the German goalkeeper. Abhishek managed to equalize with a rebound, but a video referral from Germany resulted in the goal being cancelled.
