Hockey India Rewards Players with a Cash Prize of 15 Lakhs After Olympic Bronze

In a heartwarming gesture, Hockey India has announced cash rewards for the men’s hockey team following their historic bronze medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Each player of the Indian men’s hockey team will receive a prize of ₹15 lakh.

Hockey India’s recognition for the Team’s success

This recognition comes after their stellar performance, securing a bronze medal by defeating Spain 2-1. The team’s unity, skill, and perseverance brought joy to millions of hockey fans across the country.

The support staff members will also be rewarded for their invaluable contributions. Each member of the support staff will receive a cash prize of ₹7.5 lakh.

This achievement marks India’s second consecutive Olympic medal in hockey, a feat last accomplished 52 years ago. The match in Paris was especially significant as it served as the farewell game for legendary Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, who played his last international match.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh led from the front, scoring two crucial goals in the 30th and 33rd minutes. Their victory not only secured the bronze medal but also solidified India’s position as a dominant force in international hockey.
