The Goa Tourism Department has recently announced a strategic partnership with the organizers of IRONMAN 70.3 India, Yoska, to promote sports tourism in the region. This collaboration is a significant step towards positioning Goa as a premier destination for sports tourism, leveraging its natural beauty and vibrant energy to attract quality tourists from across the globe.

The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Goa Tourism Director Suneel Anchipaka and IRONMAN 70.3 India Deputy Race Director Neil D’silva at the recently concluded Goa International Travel Mart at Dona Paula. This alliance is expected to bring valuable expertise and resources to the table, enabling the development and promotion of sporting events that showcase the best of what Goa has to offer.
IRONMAN 70.3 India, launched in Goa in 2019, has attracted thousands of triathletes from India and 50 other countries over the past three editions. The event has significantly contributed to positioning Goa as a sports tourism destination internationally. The upcoming 2024 race, scheduled for October 27, is expected to continue this trend.
Deepak Raj, the CEO of Yoska and franchise owner and race director of IRONMAN 70.3 India, expressed gratitude for the support from Goa Tourism. He stated that the event has found its home in Goa and has become an integral part of India’s and the world’s triathlon community. He also highlighted Goa’s growing reputation as a sports tourism destination, emphasizing the state’s excellent infrastructure for triathlons, a wide range of accommodation options, and excellent airport access.
