The Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) has announced an extensive calendar of 41 competitions for the 2024-25 season. This announcement marks a significant step forward in the development of equestrian sports in India, with several firsts included in the calendar.

The Equestrian Federation of India’s new season will commence in August

The 2024-25 season will commence on August 11 with the Sapta Shakti Horse Show in Jaipur. For the first time, India will be hosting an FEI CSI two-star (2*) tournament, the Asian Equestrian Federation (AEF), sanctioned U-21 Regional Group III international competitions in Show Jumping and Dressage on borrowed horses.

In addition to these, the EFI has also introduced two Para-Dressage National events. This is a significant development as it marks the first time Para-Dressage competitions are being held in the country. The first event is scheduled to be held from October 18-20, followed by the second event taking place between October 23-25 at the TARC Equestrian Centre, Chhatarpur.

The AEF U-21 Show Jumping competition is scheduled for October 12-13, while the Dressage meet will take place at the Army Polo and Riding Centre from November 28 to December 1. These events aim to develop the next line of quality riders and select the best team for the upcoming Asian Continental Championships.

EFI Secretary General Col. Jaiveer Singh expressed his optimism about the progress made on the international stage in recent years. He highlighted the success at the 2022 Asian Games, where India won a gold and one bronze. The focus now is on building a strong supply line of riders and winning as many medals at the Asian Continental Championships next year.

The selection trials for the FEI Asian Continental Championships will begin with Show Jumping at TARC Centre on December 7. Trials will be held for all three categories over the period of the next four months.

EFI will also conduct Show Jumping, Dressage and Tent Pegging events for Sub Junior and Junior and Young Riders categories. The top 10 riders in Tent Pegging will be considered for selection for the AEF U-21 Tent Pegging International to be held in Mumbai in March 2025.
