Quite a lot of Premier League superstars have ventured into the United States’ MLS for pastures new in their later stages of their careers but not many of them have captivated the domestic MLS scene and become an icon like David Beckham did. That fact is now well marked by a statue outside the LA Galaxy stadium.

Just before their game against Chicago Fire, David Beckham’s statue was unveiled at the Dignity Health Sports Park.
“Today a dream came true,” said Beckham, the owner of Inter Miami. The club is set to join MLS from 2020 onwards and the buzz is in the air in Miami regarding this development.
Beckham said: “I am truly proud you have created something to – a – keep me young and – b – give my family and friends and especially my kids, who can come here one day very soon and see something of their father and see what we created and what I achieved.”
Later today, Zlatan Ibrahimovic – another legend of the game , brought the day to a fitting end as he scored the winning goal against Chicago Fire.
