Barcelona have officially announced Frenkie De Jong as their first team player. The 21 year old Dutch midfielder will join Barcelona from the beginning of the next season. The Catalan Giants secured the service of the player till the end of 2023-24 season.

The young Dutch midfielder will complete this season in Ajax colours and then he will move to the Camp Nou. The Catalan Giants have paid a transfer fee worth £75 million to land Frenkie De Jong and another £11 miilon variable will also be added on. Frenkie De Jong made his debut in 2016 and he is a first team regular of Dutch National side.

The top European clubs like Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City were interested to bring in the sensational young midfielder in this January transfer window. However, the President of Ajax made it clear that the best destination for the player will be Camp Nou at this moment.

After the inclusion of Kevin Prince Boateng in their squad in this winter transfer window, Frenkie De Jong is Barcelona’s second signing of this transfer window. The inclusion of Frenkie De Jong in the first team of the Catalan Giants will surely indicate the exit of Denis Suarez who is heavily linked with the Gunners for a move in this January.
