As temporary replacements for Will Jacks, Ryan Rickelton, and Corbin Bosch—all of whom will depart the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for national duty following the team’s final league match, against Punjab Kings in Jaipur on May 26—the Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson, and Charith Asalanka.

The replacement players will only be available if MI advances, as they have not yet guaranteed a postseason berth.

Bairstow, an England batsman and wicketkeeper who was unsold in the big auction, will join for INR 5.25 crore. He replaces all-rounder Jacks, who is part of England’s white-ball team for the May 29 start of the limited-overs series against the West Indies at home.

Richard Gleeson, an English fast bowler, will replace Ryan Rickelton, who is departing for ICC World Test Championship (WTC) duties, at a reserve price of INR 1 crore. For Corbin Bosch, who is also included in South Africa’s squad for the WTC final at Lord’s, Charith Asalanka will be brought in at a reserve fee of INR 75 lakhs.
