Things are looking awry for the Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho after Saturday’s match with Southampton ended in a 2-2 draw.
With the current messy state of The Red Devils and Mourinho doing nothing to justify his role as a manager, Zinedine Zidane is once again being touted to be the successor of the Portuguese manager.
Manchester United are hesitant to make the change mid-season. David Moyes was given until it was mathematically impossible to finish in the Champions League qualifying slots before executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward took action.
Quite the same happened with Louis van Gaal, who paid the price for a fifth-place finish despite guiding United to FA Cup victory.
Now, British bookmakers Coral have come up with a list of managers who could succeed Mourinho at United and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is currently the favourite.
“We’ve been knocked over with bets on Jose Mourinho to leave Manchester United before the season is out following his side’s 2-2 draw with Southampton yesterday where he is odds-on in the betting to depart,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“Zidane remains the favourite to take over from Jose at Old Trafford.
