Zidane tasked with winning much more than just trophies at Real

As a dismal season nears its end for Real Madrid, with much twists and turns on the way, the second coming of former player Zinedine Zidane means the Spanish giants will be looking to get back into business next season on. However, it seems much clear that Zizou will be tasked with much more than just the ‘win trophies’ revolution that every Real Madrid fan has been aching for.

Having crashed out of the Copa Del Rey, an untimely departure from the Champions League and an already over La Liga campaign weigh down on Real Madrid and most importantly Zinedine Zidane, who returned to the Bernabeu for the second time earlier last month.

However, the usually heavy spending Spanish side have decided against overhauling the whole squad and bringing in new faces, and will instead stick with the same core which won the Champions League thrice, consecutively. This doesn’t imply that the club will not be out in the market for reinforcements.

This would effectively mean Zidane will be shouldering a much greater responsibility at Real Madrid than simply just winning back trophies. The first and foremost important task at hand would be to get the squad’s pivotal stars in Isco, Marcelo and Bale back to their finest form if this new evolution is to see the light of the day.

And while a few others’ attitudes have upset Real’s hierarchy at the top, they surely put their trust in the 46-year old Frenchman that he will overlook the much needed change in the squad’s form and mentality that will see the former European champions back to their glorious best as their history dictates.
