The Royal Challengers Bangalore had a few departures from their bio bubble in the form of Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson. The Aussie duo elected to leave following their national teammate Andrew Tye’s decision to part ways with the Rajasthan Royals camp.

IPL 2021: Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson stranded in a Mumbai hotel as Australia government suspends flights

As per reports, the duo are apparently stuck inside a Mumbai hotel with the Australian government suspending all the flights from the coronavirus ravaged nation.

Zampa and Richardson had checked-in into a hotel near the airport for their flight, but with the flight now cancelled, they are stuck in the hotel for the foreseeable future.

Cricket Australia has reportedly been in touch with their government about the matter and working closely with the Australian Cricketers Association (ACA) and DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) to seek a solution for this matter.

The players would seek to return back to their home country just like Andrew Tye, who announced his intention to leave, a little earlier.

“We are trying to see if the government does give us the go ahead to bring the players back. If we get the nod, it’s all pretty straightforward. But if not, we’ll be working with the ACA and BCCI to make sure they’re in a secure environment,” the spokesperson told Cricbuzz.

“Those who were very unsure about going had opted out even before the tournament began. We’ve now seen some of them withdraw in the last few days. We are constantly in touch with all the players, support staff members and commentators there as well as the ACA and as far as now, they are keen on seeing the tournament out,” the spokesperson added.

Australian Prime Minister has already announced that the players involved in the tournament will have to make their own arrangements to return back home.

On the other hand, IPL has assured the players that they will do everything in their power to get them safely to their homes once it is concluded.

In a letter to the franchises, he wrote, “Be rest assured that the tournament is not over for BCCI till each one of you has reached your home, safe and sound,” he wrote.
