Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson are the latest batch of players to leave the tournament midway. Following Andrew Tye’s departure from the Rajashtan Royals’ camp, the Australian duo from RCB are also set to depart after informing the franchise.

Royal Challengers Bangalore announced that the pair won’t be available for the rest of the tournament. In a tweet, the team issued a statement that read.

“Adam Zampa & Kane Richardson are returning to Australia for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of IPL season. Royal Challengers Bangalore offers complete support to them in all the possible way we can,” 

Kane Richardson featured in RCB’s 10-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals with figures of 1-29 in three overs.

On the other hand, Adam Zampa has not been able to feature in a match so far with the spin duties being carried out by Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmad, and Yuzvendra Chahal.

RCB still have a bunch of Australians left in their squad which includes Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Christian, Daniel Sams and, coach Simon Katich.

Amid the surging number of cases in the country which touched the 3.5 lakh figure on Monday, the Australian federal government announced that it will significantly reduce the number of flights from the nation.

There are a total of 14 Australian players left in the IPL with three departures confirmed. First-team starlets like Steve Smith, David Warner, and Pat Cummins continue to feature while former cricketers Michael Slater and Brett Lee continue to be a part of the commentary panel.

“Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers’ Association remain in regular contact with Australian players, coaches and commentators taking part in the Indian Premier League, which is being conducted under strict biosecurity protocols,” a statement on Monday afternoon read.

“We will continue to listen to feedback from those on the ground in India and the advice of the Australian Government. Our thoughts are with the people of India at this difficult time.”
