Zaheer Khan points out one area where Hardik Pandya can make improvements

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has taken the Team India home in the ongoing three-match Twenty20 International series Down Under. He has been in a formidable form with the bat and has been providing with the much-needed strength in the middle-order. Notably, he has played the role of a finisher for India in the ongoing limited-overs series as well. Meanwhile, former Indian pace bowler Zaheer Khan, who has closely looked him in IPL, feels that he can take on any bowler as well.

“He’s just so relaxed and not really frustrated by the dot balls if there are any at that stage. Just because of the belief he has. If he can hit six at any stage and he waits for that bowler to make that error. He makes sure that the bowler is under pressure,” Zaheer Khan told Cricbuzz. “More and more he is going in his career, you know, he’s going to create a reputation like this which is going to be very hard for any bowler to deal with at that stage if he is at the crease.”

However, Pandya is yet to be back as a bowler as he is yet to be recovered fully from his back injury. And, he has been playing as a batsman only and he didn’t bowl in the IPL 2020 too. Even he didn’t bowl in the first few games of the ongoing limited-overs s series as well. However, he bowled a few overs in one game and claimed a wicket but it was an on-field call by the captain Virat Kohli. However, Zaheer Khan believes that once he will overcome this hurdle, he will become one of the great assets for Team India.

“You know the kind of batting which he is doing, add his bowling to it and his fielding. And then, he is a great asset to have – a match-winner. Something which he should always consider to work on is his bowling and provide that kind of a balance to the side. He is definitely used this time at the moment to turn things around with regards to his batting. He is going in confidence and turning out to be a great impact player at this level,” concluded Zaheer.
