India’s ace leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal turns 31 today. The former chess player is one of the most loved cricketers around the globe. His bubbly nature, Twitter banters with Rohit Sharma, and his famous Chahal TV is admired by all.
The right-arm leg spinner made a name for himself by playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. The daring bowler has a phenomenal record in Chinnaswamy stadium which is also known as ‘Bowler’s Nightmare’.
He made his international debut against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club in 2016. But his breakthrough performance came against England in a T20I game which was also a decider. Yuzi picked up 6 wickets for just 25 runs, helping India win the T20 series in 2017.
So far Chahal has represented India in 56 ODIs and 48 T20Is. The leg-spinner has taken 97 wickets in ODI which includes 2 five-wicket hauls. He is India’s second leading wicket taker in T20Is with 62 scalps in his account.
He along with fellow left arm leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav, formed a formidable duo known as Kul-Cha. The duo foxed batsmen all around the globe and helped India win major white-ball series in Australia, New Zealand, England and South Africa. But the duo have not been playing together after an ordinary performance in the ICC World Cup in 2019.
However, now the duo are playing together again. Both of them are playing in the same XI after almost 2 years against Sri Lanka in the ongoing series. Kul-Cha are doing well given that they are playing cricket after a long time.
We wish Yuzi Chahal a Very Happy Birthday! We hope that he continues to entertain us with his chucklesome antics.
