The fans know him for his on field bowling skills but interestingly enough, Chahal has been a chess lover and as a matter of fact, he has been a chess player during his youth.
The Indian spinner had also participated in national tournaments. He was a brilliant chess player and had also represented India at the World Youth Chess Championship.
Chahal was recently playing in the currently suspended-Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The coveted tournament was postponed after multiple cases of COVID-19 broke out in the bio-bubbles.
Like the previous season, IPL 2021 is set to take place in United Arab Emirates (UAE) restart in the September-October window to complete the remainder of the tournament.
Don’t miss the chess action as the event begins on Sunday, June 13 at 5pm on Chesscom India YouTube channel.
