Yuzvendra Chahal, the spin wizard of Rajasthan Royals (RR), has etched his name in the annals of cricket history by becoming the first Indian bowler to take 350 wickets in T20 cricket. This remarkable milestone was achieved during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s immaculate career
Chahal’s journey to this record has been filled with numerous match-winning performances for both the national team and in various T20 leagues. His ability to outsmart batsmen with his leg-spin has made him a crucial player in T20 matches. He has taken 96 wickets at an average of 25.09 for India in T20 Internationals, making him the leading wicket-taker for India in this format. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the only other Indian with more than 90 T20I wickets.
The historic wicket that took Chahal to the 350 mark was that of DC’s skipper Rishabh Pant. This achievement not only showcases his exceptional skill and consistency in the shortest format of the game but also underlines his significant contribution to Indian cricket.
