Becky Lynch made her presence felt as she walked down the aisle to address the WWE Universe for the first time since winning both the Raw as well as Smackdown WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania, and got a hero’s welcome from the crowd.
Her story of being an underdog with all the odds against her has connected very well with the WWE Universe, and the crowd enjoyed a feel-good moment as Lynch won the triple threat encounter against Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey and cut a promo that struck a chord with the audience as they were constantly behind the man during the segment.
As she was about to leave the ring after her promo, she was interrupted by WWE’s newest addition to their women’s division, Lacey Evans.
Evans who had only strolled to the ring, only to take a U-Turn and go back, ignited her first feud in the WWE as she attacked the champion. Evans’ only participation in a match has been in the Women’s Royal Rumble.
With both the women going all out against each other, it is most likely that Evans will get her first major feud and that too for the Championship. Vince reportedly is too high on Evans and it should not require rocket science to connect the dots that she will be the new challenger for Lynch’s title.
With Rousey reportedly taking time off WWE, this seems to be a good move that will help Becky become a fighting champion and will also help to cement Evans into the main event picture.
It will also be interesting to see in the coming episodes of what the creative team decides to do with Flair. An encounter between Lynch and Flair is also expected at some point in time in the near future.
