We are just two weeks away from the return of WWE to Saudi Arabia for the second time this year. WWE Crown Jewel is scheduled to take place on November 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, however, the event is in serious jeopardy and at the risk of being cancelled due to the recent ongoings.

Earlier this month, news emerged that Washington post journalist Jamal Khashoggi had fled from the Saudi consulate in Turkey. Latest reports indicated that the American resident was killed in what was possibly a state-ordered kidnapping gone wrong.

The US Political Parties have called in for further investigation into the alleged murder while President Donald Trump has insinuated that the Saudi Government was probably involved in the killing of Jamal. Meanwhile, WWE has essentially remained silent until now but did release an official statement addressing the status of Crown Jewel and said, “We are currently monitoring the situation.”

WWE currently has a contractual settlement with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and as per his Saudi Vision Plan 2030, WWE has agreed to put in multiple events and shows in the Middle East for the coming years.

The lineup for the PPV began to take shape with Roman Reigns defending his Universal Championship against Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar while D-Generation X reunites to take on The Brothers of Destruction. On the Smackdown side, Daniel Bryan will get an opportunity to face AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.
