The 24-year-old suffered a loss to her Russian opponent by the scoreline of 0-10 (technical superiority).

The loss meant that the Commonwealth and Asian games gold medallist could not add to her third consecutive gold. She had previously won the Grand Prix of Spain, Yasar Dogu International and Poland Open.

Meanwhile, in another news that brought cheer to the nation, India’s top men’s wrestler Bajrang Punia defended his title at Tbilisi Grand Prix on Saturday.

Bajrang got past Iran’s Peiman Bibyani by the scoreline of 2-0 in the 65kg final of the men’s freestyle competition in Georgia. This saw him retain his gold medal which he secured last year.
