Indian wrestler Nisha Dahiya faced a gut-wrenching moment during her women’s 68kg quarterfinal match at the Paris Olympics 2024. Nisha was up 8-1 in the second round when she dislocated her finger, causing excruciating pain. Despite the injury, she continued the fight after receiving treatment. However, her shoulder also began to ache, severely limiting her ability to participate.
Unfortunate result for Nisha Dahiya
Nisha’s opponent, North Korea’s Sol Gum Pak, capitalized on the situation. With less than 10 seconds left in the match, Pak executed a winning takedown, securing a 10-8 victory. An emotional Nisha burst into tears and had to be led off the arena by her coaches.
Although her quarterfinal loss was devastating, Nisha still has a chance. If Pak advances to the final, Nisha can compete for a medal in the repechage round.
