Central Bureau of Investigation has dismissed wrestler Narsingh Yadav’s sabotage theory in which he alleged that a mess worker spiked his food and made him test positive for a banned substance methandienone. According to CBI officials, there was no truth in it and the Delhi High court has been asked to dismiss the writ petition filed by Yadav.

In case you don’t know, Narsingh Yadav tested positive while taking the banned drug way back in 2016 three weeks before the start of the Rio Olympics. He was selected to represent his nation in the 74-kg category but even after testing positive, the IOC allowed him to go to Brazil after a case was filed to WADA. The parent anti-doping agency dismissed his claim and suspended him for four years.

As a result, despite bagging an Olympic quota, India didn’t field any candidate in the Men’s 74kg Freestyle Wrestling category.
