Virat Kohli equaled the “Master Blaster’s centuries” record by scoring an undefeated 101 runs in 121 balls while hitting ten fours. In addition, Kohli became the third Indian batsman to achieve a century in an ODI on his birthday.
According to the data, Kohli needed to score his 49th century in his 289th match, while Tendulkar needed to do so in his 451st ODI innings. Tendulkar and Kohli’s innings are therefore separated by 175 innings.
Among the other milestones he broke was the eighth time he scored more than 1000 ODI runs in a single year, beating Tendulkar’s previous record of seven. Kohli has already amassed two centuries and four half-centuries in this World Cup of 2023.
