Iceland Cricket recently entered into the fray regarding India facing accusations of using suspicious balls in the ongoing World Cup 2023.
Former Pakistan cricketer Hasan Raza recently made serious accusation against the Indian side, citing Md. Shami and Siraj were involved in foul play.
Cricket fans around the world are in a frenzy after India’s three speedsters, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj bowled a fierce spell against Sri Lanka during the World Cup 2023 match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
With ten wickets required to chase 359, Siraj, Bumrah, and Shami combined to take nine of them, reducing Sri Lanka to their second-lowest ODI score of 55. The three Indian pacers have taken 38 wickets so far as of this writing.
But while Shami, Siraj and Bumrah have impressed with the bowling display, Raza believes that the ICC and the BCCI are favouring the Indian team by delivering special balls and urged the matter to be looked into.
Iceland Cricket came to the aid of Team India and posted the following on Twitter:
“We just secured a box of the balls India are using in the CWC and it turns out they don’t zip around in Reykjavík either. We have concluded that their bowlers must be a bit better than ours. Sorry lads.”
