Rohit Sharma destroys Australian bowling

The wounds from the 2023 World Cup final were still fresh. Australia had emerged victorious, and India was determined to turn the tables. Rohit Sharma, known for his explosive batting, stepped onto the pitch with a vengeance and with a mission to decimate the Australian bowling attack.

Rohit’s blade danced to the tune of eight sixes as he blazed his way to a stunning 92 runs off just 41 balls. One over against Mitchell Starc was particularly unforgettable. Rohit smashed four towering sixes, one of which soared an astonishing 100 meters. His innings powered India to their highest total of the tournament: 205/5 in Gros Islet, St Lucia.

Rohit’s fifty came in a blazing 20 balls, breaking the previous record held by ex-Bangladesh skipper Mohammad Ashraful. Rohit seemed poised for a record-breaking century, but fate intervened. In the 10th over, Mitchell Starc bowled him out at 92.

Rohit’s heroics propelled India to a 24-run win over Australia. Travis Head’s valiant effort (scoring 76) wasn’t enough for Australia, who could only manage 181/7.

Pragyan Ojha comments on Rohit Sharma’s vengeance aginst Australia

After seeing Rohit Sharma’s desolation of Australia yesterday, Pragyan Ojha took to X (formerly Twitter) and expressed himself. He made a bold claim about Rohit not being able to move on from the World Cup final loss and that’s why he channelled the anger in yesterday’s knock.

“Who says men move on! Rohit, with his bat and commanding presence against Australia yesterday, epitomized his dedication from November 19, at Narendra Modi Stadium. Keep shining, Team India! We’ll forever be proud of you!” – Pragyan Ojha wrote via X.
