Last week’s MLS face off between DC United and LA Galaxy saw a spectacular save from Bill Hamid, the DC goalkeeper who’s acrobatic block of Zlatan Imbrahimovic’s volley, earned applause across the stadium, even from the Swedish superstar himself.

Galaxy midfielder Jonathan dos Santos curved in a marvellous free kick into the box by the 70th minute, as the 37 year old Swede directed the ball towards the net with a golden touch of his right foot.
However, DC’s 28 year old under the crossbar was alert as ever, and with an astonishing showcase of reflex, he jumped up to punch the ball out of goal with his left hand, and then went onto a double high five with teammate Felipe Martins.
The whole stadium of Audi Field was staggered at Hamid’s save, and even Zlatan himself was seen clapping at the keeper.
The final score was 2-1 for the Washington side, as Paul Arriola and Lucas Rodriguez both managed to net one goal each for the home side. Fabio Alvarez was the solo Galaxy player to get his name on the score sheet.
The born player, who spent 9 seasons with the MLS side, joined Danish football club FC Midtjylland in 2018, and returned to DC again last year on a one and a half year loan spell.
